Jamie Lavallee

My own interest in pursuing a career in massage therapy came after personal injury of my own.

Massage therapy helped me manage the extreme pain after a traumatic car accident in 2009.

Having had first-hand experience with chronic pain has allowed me to fully understand the psycho-social barriers to recapturing wellness after injury and my experience with a successful small business in the culinary arts also helped to give me the confidence and experience to follow this path.

After graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2016 I began working & gaining experience in a wide range of ailments, conditions and treatments. At the Vancouver School of Healing Arts in 2018 I studied to expand my knowledge on body movement and meditation through the Yoga Teacher program.

Outside of work I try too keep active and maintain a healthy interest in hiking, kayaking and gardening as well as the finer arts. I love to spend relaxed time with my four beautiful children and partner and I try to live life to it’s fullest.

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage has a long history going back many hundreds of years, but isn’t often well understood outside of the profession. In recent decades it has taken a far more medical and scientific approach, being more open and transparent, combining knowledge from all parts of the world and the medical professions to constantly improve and make people aware of it’s real benefits.

The modern Registered Massage Therapist is a highly qualified, focused medical professional who has to constantly keep up to date with emerging knowledge and techniques, which they study and apply in practice to the benefit of their clients health and wellbeing. While you relax your therapist is analyzing and adapting their technique toward the goals of your treatment, be it for relaxation or pain management.

A Registered Massage Therapist knows about muscles, bone, joint’s, nerves, tendons and how your body is connected.  They combine tried and tested techniques with modern medical knowledge to help you achieve the best results possible. Choosing a massage therapist that is right for you is an important step in managing on going issues or achieving relaxation if you lead a stressful life around work.

With regular sessions the effects of massage are proven to help relieve stress, anxiety and lead to better quality of life around issues that are more persistent or long term.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a highly effective technique for treating musculoskeletal issues, including strains and sports injuries. It can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and pain, particularly in the neck, back, joints, and muscles. With more people working from home due to Covid-19, deep tissue massage has become increasingly popular for promoting overall wellness and rehabilitation. At One Branch Therapeutic Wellness, our Registered Massage Therapists are here to advise you on the best treatment plan for your needs. Reach out to us for accurate information and to prioritize your wellbeing.

Swedish Massage Therapy

Swedish Massage and Deep Tissue Massage are two popular therapeutic techniques. Swedish massage focuses on relaxation and increased blood circulation through long strokes and kneading, while Deep Tissue Massage targets chronic pain and inflammation by manipulating deep tissues. Although pressure is increased in Deep Tissue Massage, both techniques require a skilled therapist to provide effective care tailored to individual needs.

Neuromuscular Technique

Neuromuscular Technique targets “trigger points” to alleviate pain and spasm cycles. This treatment aims to restore balance between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems by addressing biomechanical dysfunction, postural distortion, poor blood flow, trigger points, and nerve compression.

Relaxation & Pain Relief

Prioritizing self-care amidst daily hustle is crucial, as your body signals the need for it through tension, pain, and stress. At One Branch Therapeutic Wellness, our Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) provide personalized massage treatments to alleviate discomfort, reduce inflammation, and promote natural healing. Don’t fall for misinformation; reach out to us for professional advice on improving your wellbeing.

Whiplash

Whiplash, often caused by car accidents or sports injuries, can lead to various neck injuries and symptoms like pain, numbness, and headaches. Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) play a crucial role in managing these symptoms, reducing muscle spasms, and improving functionality. Early return to work and proper guidance are essential for optimal recovery and minimizing long-term disability.
